Vengeance on wheels/ Barrelling 
Down the road/ A crash
A do-over/ Ensure the job
Is done/ The pole falls 
Cut in two/ Blue lightning racing 
Down on a collision
Course with Fate 

 A wretched scream 
Death rides
In desperate fingers 
Fiery flames billowing/ Outward
From a sunflower core of ash 
Eyes snap/ Wave aside it's time 
Shine/ As a new star 
Hanging in the heavens/ Burning 
Alive for all time 

 Wait! Even though it's time 
To explore a new world/ Created 
In my image/ Wait! Nagging 
Pitifully/ This hero past 
His hill/ Toothless and decrepit 
Arrogant challenge? Plaintive
Cry/ Return to your hag
Nothing awaits you here/ But death

Written September 7, 2010 A dark series of squiggles make their way down and across the page, in that order. Cheap poetry and lame jokes are the order of the day. For once the silence has retreated and is content to watch from the top row of the bleachers. For once there's no raining on the court while the ball's in play.
